Our flags will be flying here in Mad River, California, USA this year to honor this special day in Norway.
A 5 YEAR ANNIVERSARY This year we will especially remember our guests from Norway who came to California to help us dedicate the "Slooper bautastein" in Napa 5 years ago on May 15, 2004. Two days later, on the 17th, we gathered with our friends at San Francisco's Norwegian Seaman's Church* overlooking the Bay. Please visit the photo album from that memorable day.

A special
tusen takk (thank you) We take this special time of the year to publically express our gratitude to Norwegian-American artist Ira Kessey for a recent gift of a bronze casting art piece made from one of his stone carvings from the Slooper Monument Project. We share here some of the images of this outstanding art piece with its image of the famous Norwegian sloop Restauration. We thank Ira for this special gift, as well as the valuable role he played in the whole Slooper Monument Project in 2004. . |
