With his weekend starting, Patrick drives us southwest of
Namur to the northern part of the Ardennes region of Belgium. "The
Ardennes" - something of a mystical name - long associated in our minds with
battlefields prove to be associated with even deeper and older mysteries and
conflicts. Here Patrick
shares some of his favorite places, including part of the hiking loop out of the
town of Wéiris where ancient stones known as megaliths and dolmens have been found,
their alignments studied
and preserved, a very unusual place to have lunch, a famous small town and the
best ice cream on the planet!
