Monique asks the local harbormaster for some more historical background of this area.
He was friendly, enthusiastic and replied at great length. Sadly, our
limited understanding of the French language, especially as used in this unique
part of France, restricted our full appreciation of all that he told us.
We certainly taxed Monique's excellent language skills this day as she acted as
our most competent translator. We shall forever be indebted and
