Having spent a wonderful month in Norway in the summer of 2000, our intrigue with life in Norway and things Norwegian led to a near obsession.  We felt compelled to know what Norway was like in the winter.

We had the great fortune and honor to be invited back to the Rogaland fylke area of southwest Norway to see what the Christmas holiday season was like.  Our dear friends Rotraud and Einar Slogvik invited us to spend the holiday with them and their family.  In December 2001, we flew there to spend 18 days over the Christmas holiday.

We were excited about returning to this beautiful and friendly country, but most of all, we looked forward to spending time with the folks we met on our previous trip.  It was from this part of Norway that some of Keith's ancestors came and this afforded the opportunity to learn more about his heritage and the history of this area (see Keith's Slooper page as well as the New Norway Info page).  Browsing through our Photo Albums will give you a good idea of how great our holiday experience was.

And, be sure you have received our special 2001 Holiday Card - Its sentiments remain the same today.
