Lord states, "One of the family chapters in Wade's book (THE WIGHTMAN HERITAGE) says the following: John Holmes' married second Mary Greene, widow of William Greene, on 12 Oct. 1680. She was the daughter of John and Mary (Williams) Sayles. Her birth was on 11 July.1652. She died in 1713+. She also has the distinction of being the granddaughter of Roger Williams." He was married to Mary SAYLES on 12 Oct 1680 in Newport, Newport Co., RI.

991. Mary SAYLES⁽²⁹⁵⁾⁽⁶⁰⁵⁾ was born on 11 Jul 1652 in Providence, Providence, RI. She died in 1717 in Warwick, Kent Co., RI. In her e-mail of 19 May 2000, S. Lord states, "One of the family chapters in Wade's book (THE WIGHTMAN HERITAGE) says the following: John Holmes' married second Mary Greene, widow of William Greene, on 12 Oct. 1680. She was the daughter of John and Mary (Williams) Sayles. Her birth was on 11 July.1652. She died in 1713+. She also has the distinction of being the granddaughter of Roger Williams." Children were:
