Vatland som Osmund åtte i 1617. -- På skipreidetinget 13 Nov 1634 hadde Peder Brattvedt stemna Erik Hundsnes og Torkel Hersdal for arv etter Nils Amdal "hans kones søster," og meinte han hadde fått for lite."

2. Osmund Hersdal is mentioned 1603-1623, married to Gunilla. He was landowner in 1619 while Gunilla Hersdal owned the farm in 1624 and was farm owner the following year. She is probably the wife of Osmund. She owned, among other things, an estate in Vatland which Osmund owned in 1617. -- At Viking coastal defense unit court on 13 Nov 1634 had Peder Brattvedt (husband of Osmundsdotter D) summon Erik Hundsnes (husband of Osmundsdotter A) and Torkel Hersdal (husband of Osmundsdotter B) for inheritance after Nils Amdal (husband of Osmundsdotter C) "his wife's sister," and meant he had the got for little. (There obviously was a conflict over inheritance among Osmund and Gunilla's daughters and their husbands.) He was married to Gunilla HERSDAL/VATLAND?.

i. Osmundsdotter A HERSDAL⁽¹¹²³⁾. She married Erik Knutsen Hundsnes. She was the first of his 2 wives.
ii. Osmundsdotter B HERSDAL⁽¹¹²⁴⁾. She married Torkel Hersdal who was the next farmer at Hersdal after Osmund. They had two sons: Ole and Tosten.
iii. Osmundsdotter C HERSDAL⁽¹¹²⁵⁾. She married Nils Amdal, Nedstrand.
iv. Osmundsdotter D HERSDAL⁽¹¹²⁶⁾. She married Peder Brattvedt.
v. Osmundsdotter E HERSDAL⁽¹¹²⁷⁾. She married Kristoffer in Vigen.
