TWELFTH GENERATION

3744. Kenelm WINSLOW (1083). "It was he who bought the 120-acre farm Kerswell or Careswell, a place much loved and its name given to Gov. Edward Winslow's home at Marshfield in Plymouth Colony. Kenelm also had a considerable estate called Clerkenleap and bought in 1559 another, Newport's place, in Kempsey. He was obviously a man of some wealth. In his will, written and proved in 1607, he says he is of the parish of St. Andrew in the city of Worcester and appoints his wife Katherine sole executrix, mentioning his children and grandchildren without naming them (NEHGR 21:210-211)."
