He and Martha Closson had one son, Joseph Burgess who was born 6 Aug 1708. Joseph married Anna Tew in Little Compton, RI, Jan 1729/30 and they had 3 children. 955. Esther RICHMOND ⁽⁸¹⁾⁽³⁸⁶⁾ was born in 1669 in Little Compton, Newport, RI. She died on 12 May 1706 in Little Compton, Newport, RI. "She resided in Taunton, Briston, Massachusetts." (Susan Thompson) Children were:

i. Lydia BURGESS⁽³⁸⁶⁾.
ii. Edward BURGESS⁽³⁸⁶⁾ was born in 1692.
